Position Title: Business Analyst / Financial Accountant

Position Summary
The Business Analyst / Financial Accountant is responsible for the maintenance of the general ledger for Fairview Red Wing Health Services (FRWHS), assist in budget preparation, financial analysis and regulatory reporting requirements. Additionally, the positions would coordinate the Workforce Analytics for Healthcare reporting (WAH) and Webstation for Executives reporting.
Core Competencies
Maintains the general ledger for FRWHS
• Prepares monthly journal entries to represent activity for revenue that is accumulated on a software system separate from the general ledger
• Reconciles accounts monthly to verify accuracy of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement
• Reconciles Cash monthly in coordination with accounts payable for FRWHS and prepare appropriate monthly journal entries
• Maintains a reconciliation of the self funded health and dental insurance for all 4 entities
• Maintains detailed records for the investment activity for the 4 entities
• Prepare monthly journal entries for various balance sheet/income statement accounts to properly reflect accrual accounting

Coordinates Workforce Analytics for Healthcare reporting system (WAH)
• Facilitates identifying appropriate departmental statistic to be used to measure productivity
• Leads the process of the building and understanding assumptions / development methodologies with the reporting system
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the various systems that provide information to Analytics to produce productivity reports, such as the charge capture systems, Kronos’ Workforce Central, Payroll and billing
• Responsible for building, maintaining, auditing information and providing appropriate security levels within the system
• Provides education and training to management on interpretation of standard reports, views and dashboards
• Provides in-depth evaluation of budget variances, historic and projected trends, and other operational issues related to measurements
Coordinates Webstation Reporting System
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the various systems that provide information to Webstation for Executives
• Loads budget data into the general ledger software
• Responsible for building, maintaining, audition information and providing appropriate security levels within the system
• Provides education and training to management on interpretation of standard reports, views and dashboards
Budget preparation support
• Summarizes manager detail obtained during meetings to the budget format utilized for all 4 entities
• Loads budget data into the general ledger software
• Reconciles the detail from the entities from the excel format to the general ledger software
Regulatory filing support
• Provides data to management for regulatory filing such as 990 tax returns, HAR report, annual registrations and the Medicare Cost Report
• Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual filings for MN Care Tax and Sales Tax

• Provide full analysis of all general ledger accounts for FRWHS
• Provide supporting documentation for audits (ie. financial, Worker’s Comp, and Cost Report)

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors’ degree in Business/Accounting or Finance
3-5 years in general business or accounting environment
Preferred License/Certification/Registration
CPA licensure

analytics software |
